Luckily, she liked what she saw and decided to stay, graduating in May of 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. After graduation, Kerry worked in the Registrar’s Office at Wake Forest, taking accounting courses at the college. In 1977, she attempted and passed all sections of the CPA exam. She began her accounting career as an auditor in the Winston-Salem office of Deloitte Haskins & Sells (DH&S). During her tenure at DH&S, Kerry received her CPA certification (NC Certificate #11823) and was promoted to Senior Accountant. She supervised or participated in the audits of numerous clients, including several non-profit organizations, an insurance company, and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools.
