mICHELLE TRACZ, CPA, CFE, cgmA

Michelle Tracz is a Certified Public Accountant (NC Certificate #31441 and MA Certificate #16922), Certified Fraud Examiner (ACFE certified since 2012), and a Quickbooks certified ProAdvisor (2017) with over 25 years’ experience encompassing public accounting, internal auditing and compliance, and financial management in manufacturing and not for profit industries. Michelle earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with a minor in Accounting from Clark University in Worcester, MA in 1991, and worked in public accounting for Sullivan Bille PC and Pannell Kerr Forster in Boston. While in public accounting, Michelle earned her CPA certificate, performed audits, reviews, and tax returns for a wide variety of clients.

After four years in the public accounting industry, Michelle transferred her knowledge and experiences into internal audit and compliance with General Signal Corporation (GSC) in Stamford, Connecticut and Kendro Laboratory Products (now Thermo-Fisher Scientific) in Asheville, North Carolina, fulfilling six years of financial management in manufacturing and four years in compliance controls documentation, testing, and remediation. During her time at General Signal, Michelle performed various audits and fraud investigations for divisions of GSC around the U.S and Canada. Michelle began her career at Kendro Laboratory Products as Credit and Collections Manager, rapidly progressing to Business Support Team Manager where she was responsible for the designing and managing all back office functions pertaining to Order-Ship-Bill-Collect cycle. Michelle then spent her last few years with Kendro designing and auditing their controls and compliance efforts related to the then new Sarbanes Oxley regulations.

Michelle then took the position of Finance Director for the Jewish Community Center in Asheville, North Carolina. This experience provided seven years of non-profit financial management, including development of fiscal management systems and processes, sourcing and implementation of improved financial management reporting software, preparation of monthly financial reports and analyses, management of all employee benefits and IT services, ensuring appropriate agency safeguards and maintaining optimal cash flow for the agency. During her tenure, Michelle successfully completed six agency audits with no management comments or reportable adjustments.

Michelle is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and the North Carolina Association of CPA’s (NCACPA) where she is a member of the Board of Directors and serves on the Members in Business & Industry Committee and the Fraud Conference Committee. Michelle also serves as the Vice President at Large for the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Center of Asheville, the Vice President of the Board for the Fletcher Area Business Association, board member for the Hendersonville Community Theater, Chair for the Leads South Group of the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce, and the Co-Chair of the Professional Networking Group of the Asheville Chamber of Commerce. Michelle has two children, Jeremy and Darby and enjoys running, traveling around the world, and baking for holidays, birthdays and on cold winter weekends at home. Michelle and her family live in Fletcher.

Stacy Feldman

Stacy has lived in Asheville for the past 13 years after moving from Savannah, Georgia where she served in many paid and volunteer capacities, including working for the Chatham County Tax Assessors Department.  Stacy is a graduate of MIT, where she earned a BS in Biology with a minor in Economics, and of Johns Hopkins, where she earned a MHS in Health Finance and Management.  She is currently working towards her Masters in Accounting at the University of Alabama, Birmingham.  Stacy brings experience from many industry sectors to the table, including healthcare, manufacturing, biotechnology, and education as well as an extensive involvement in fundraising projects for not-profits.

Ali has been providing bookkeeping and business services since 2002. She is also a former business owner, who understands the complexities of running a business and balancing the many demands that owners and managers face. As a Quickbooks ProAdvisor with an education degree (Bachelor’s in Community Health Education/University of Florida), Ali thrives on helping clients manage these challenges through excellent bookkeeping and business practices.  Over the past fifteen years, Ali has worked in a wide range of industries and settings and looks forward to assisting each new client reach their goals.
 
In her free time, Ali enjoys being on the water with the Asheville rowing club, reading and enjoying the outdoors.  She also finds as many opportunities as possible to spend time with her family who live in New England and Florida.  As a transplant from both of those locales; she has become an enthusiastic fan of all that our beautiful Asheville area offers.

Lindsey Frampton

Lindsey and her family recently relocated to Asheville from Raleigh, NC.  Lindsey has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree as well as a Masters in Business Administration degree from Meredith College.  She has held senior accounting positions across several industries including manufacturing, e-commerce, and heavy equipment sales.  She has experience with many aspects of accounting including Treasury and Risk Management, Financial Statement Preparation, Budget and Forecasting, Audit Preparation, Cost Variance Analysis, and Sales and Use Taxes just to name a few.  In addition to her accounting experience, Lindsey has led Human Resources departments and recently earned a Professional in Human Resources certification from the Human Resources Institute (HRCI).  Additionally, Lindsey is passionate about leadership!  During her career, she has served on a number of executive teams focusing not only on the financial results of the organization, but also on strategic planning, change management, employee development, and communication.  Outside of work Lindsey enjoys running, entertaining, and spending time with her family.

kerry shannon, cpa

Kerry, who hails from Kentucky, took a huge leap of faith in the fall of 1971 when she showed up for orientation at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC having never set foot on campus. Luckily, she liked what she saw and decided to stay, graduating in May of 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. After graduation, Kerry worked in the Registrar’s Office at Wake Forest, taking accounting courses at the college. In 1977, she attempted and passed all sections of the CPA exam. She began her accounting career as an auditor in the Winston-Salem office of Deloitte Haskins & Sells (DH&S). During her tenure at DH&S, Kerry received her CPA certification (NC Certificate #11823) and was promoted to Senior Accountant. She supervised or participated in the audits of numerous clients, including several non-profit organizations, an insurance company, and Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools. After 4 ½ years with DH&S, Kerry left to pursue employment in the private sector. During the course of her career, Kerry was a Loan Officer with Barclays American/Business Credit, Controller for Anderson Travel, Account Manager for Wachovia Bank & Trust, Controller/Assistant Treasurer for Old Salem, Inc., until landing her first public school system job as the Accounting Manager for Cumberland County Schools, the fifth-largest school system in the state. She was responsible for the management of the Payroll and Accounts Payable departments and for the direct supervision of twelve employees. In 1994, Kerry was recommended to fill the vacant Finance Officer position for the Public Schools of Robeson County in Lumberton, NC, where she managed an annual budget of over $110 million and supervised a Finance Department of eleven employees. In 1995, Kerry moved to Asheville, NC and accepted the position of Finance Officer for Polk County Schools. In 1999 she was offered the position of Finance Officer for Henderson County Public Schools (HCPS), serving 23 schools with over 13,000 students. Kerry was responsible for the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget, plus the supervision of the Finance Department, consisting of nine employees. Her areas of oversight included Payroll (for over 1,800 employees-the largest employer in Henderson County), Purchasing, Auditing, Financial Reporting, Fixed Assets, and Cash Management. During her tenure at HCPS, Kerry successfully managed an increase in the budget from $80 million to over $120 million. She also initiated the installation of several accounting system enhancements and software upgrades, both at the Central Office and individual school level. She implemented a competitive bidding process by which the Finance Department managed to save the school system several hundred thousand dollars in the areas of maintenance supplies, medical supplies, banking and insurance. Kerry retired from HCPS in July 2013, and began working with Michelle in March of 2014.


Kerry is a member of the Members in Business and Industry Committee of the North Carolina Association of CPAs and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs. She also serves as Treasurer of Asheville Community Theatre, where she has appeared onstage in numerous productions. Kerry is a proud member of American Mensa, Ltd., and has been named a “Kentucky Colonel” by the Honorable Martha Layne Collins, Kentucky’s 56th governor.
